Saule Bapanova was born in Kazakhstan. She lives and works in her studio in Almaty, where she creates the most extraordinary felt garments, wall hangings, tapestries and art work.

Over the years she has built a reputation alongside husband Alibay, as one of the greatest contemporary Kazakh exponents of Central Asian Arts. In 2013 she was awarded the highest artistic order of merit the country can bestow.

Her international fame has seen exhibits in Europe, USA and the Far East. Her recent shows in Switzerland and the UK have garnered international recognition and global praise.
